Angela Gum, DDS
In the fourth grade Dr. Gum began telling everyone who’d listen that she wanted to be a dentist when she grew up. When she was fifteen she got her first job in a dental office, and slowly began crafting her dream into her career. She opened her first practice here in the Arena District on August 30th, 2010, and her drive and ambition hasn’t stopped since. In the eight years that she has been a business owner, and the fourteen years that she has been practicing dentistry, she has cultivated an office and a team that defies expectations and offers truly personalized care. When she’s not crafting smiles or creating long-lasting friendships with patients, you can find her gardening, antiquing, or hanging out with her family.
Here are some things you might not know about Dr. Gum:

Toni – Office Manager
After twenty years in dental administration, she continues to be a leader of excellent patient care that is personalized and genuine. Toni enjoys spending time with her husband, four sons, and her grand kids, but you can also find her at plant shops, or yard sales!
Brianne- Social Media and Marketing Manager
Brianne has been in office administration for nearly fifteen years, beginning her career as a receptionist at an allergist office when she was just sixteen. Since joining the team in early 2017 she has blossomed in her role at the office, constantly finding new ways to approach old ideas to keep the practice fresh and current. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, cooking, and hosting parties.
Sierra – Dental Hygienist
As a teenager with braces, a dental office can be the worst place to find yourself; but not for Sierra. She loved visiting her ortho office so much that she decided to join in on the fun once she graduated high school, and immediately enrolled in Shawnee State’s Dental Hygiene program. Years later she still loves it, and finds patient education and care to be the most rewarding parts of her job. Sierra has been with the office almost as long as it’s been open, and has fully immersed herself as a leader in the practice, continuing our focus towards innovative techniques, and one-on-one guidance. When she’s not beautifying smiles, she’s likely beautifying crafts and home decor with her family, spending time with her two small children, or chasing down chickens on her farm.
Megan – Dental Hygienist
Megan was so determined to be a member of our practice, that she drove from West Virginia to Columbus with her resume in hand, eager to meet with Dr. Gum. She made such an impression that she was hired shortly thereafter, and she’s been a hit ever since. Megan might be our newest hygienist, but don’t let that fool you. Her tenacity and passion is obvious in her interactions with patients, and she is a strong champion for maintaining good oral health. You can find Megan dancing around the office when she’s not with patients, trying new restaurants, or working out at the gym.
Olivia – Dental Assistant
When it comes to having a perfect smile, Olivia gets it. As a classically trained singer and dancer, she understands how important it is to have dazzling teeth and the confidence to put them on display for everyone to see. Olivia’s positive attitude in the office is as persuasive as it is on stage, and she uses that to influence her patient’s experience so that everyone is always having a great time. When she’s not assisting Dr. Gum with patients, you’ll find her attending musicals, nailing her vocal lessons, or apprenticing at Weathervane Playhouse in the costuming and stagehand department.
